New IPS Intelligent Positioning Servo for OEM's

Automotion, Inc. announces the availability of a new family of high performance brushless servo positioning drives with Torque, Velocity, and Positioning capability all in one compact OEM package. The new IPS intelligent positioning servo series is designed for a variety of OEM servo motion control applications. Electronic Gearing, Cam Following, Step Motor Emulation, Analog Input Velocity, Torque Control, and Stored Motion Sequencing are just a few of the user applications the new IPS system can handle. All servo and application parameters are set digitally to guarantee repeatable results without the typical long term drift problems associated with analog systems.

Using our simple yet powerful AutoMotion® "fill in the blanks" Windows 95/98/NT© set-up and programming software, the IPS can be quickly configured for multiple operation modes within the same user application. Both "S" curve as well as "Trapezoidal" move trajectories are possible. Programming is done via a serial communications port from a lap top computer, remote process controller, or an optional hand-held Operator Interface Terminal. A second serial port allows multiple IPS units to be linked together for coordinated multi-axis motion and I/O sharing.

Most importantly, this new IPS family utilizes an internationally recognized compliant power stage that has been tested and certified by independent safety testing agencies to meet the requirements of IEC950, EN60950, and UL1950 international standards. CE and UL component recognition marks are pending. The new IPS intelligent positioning servo comes in three initial power ratings; 7/10 amp, 14/20 amp, and 21/30 amp continuous / peak. Totally self contained, a single Universal AC input, single or three phase, from 36 to 264 VAC, 50/60 Hz is all that's required to power up.
